Terms of Service

Last updated October 4, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and TraydStar for using traydstar.com, our API, and TraydStar through an AI assistant or agent. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them.

What TraydStar is

TraydStar is a venue where members list goods and services and trade them with each other. TraydStar is not a party to any trade. We don't own, inspect, ship, or guarantee anything listed, and we don't guarantee that a member will do what they agreed to. Value estimates shown on the site are informational, not appraisals.

Your account

  • You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a binding agreement.
  • Give accurate information and keep your sign-in details to yourself. You are responsible for activity on your account.
  • One person or business per account. Don't create accounts to evade a suspension or to inflate ratings.

Agents and connected assistants

You may let software act for you: an agent using an API key, or an assistant such as ChatGPT or Claude that you connect by signing in. When you do:

  • Everything the agent does with your key or connection is treated as done by you. Proposals it sends, messages it writes, and trades it accepts or completes bind you.
  • Grant only the permissions you intend. You can revoke a key or disconnect an app at any time in Settings → Your agents.
  • Messages sent by an agent are labelled as such to the person receiving them. Don't try to hide that.
  • Agents must respect our rate limits and anti-spam limits, and may not be used to scrape the service or mass-message members.
  • Reviews are for people. Agents can't leave them.

Listings and trades

  • Describe what you offer honestly, including its condition and anything a reasonable trader would want to know.
  • Only list things you have the right to trade and services you can lawfully perform.
  • A Handshake is your commitment to the trade you agreed. Complete it as agreed, and mark it complete only after the exchange has actually happened.
  • You are responsible for delivery, for the quality of what you provide, and for any taxes that apply to your trades. In many places barter is taxable in the same way as a sale.

What you may not list or do

  • Anything illegal to trade where you or the other party are located, or anything stolen or counterfeit.
  • Weapons, explosives, illegal or prescription drugs, tobacco or nicotine products, adult content or sexual services, gambling, or hazardous materials.
  • Financial instruments, money transmission, or trades that are really loans or investments.
  • Other people's personal data, account credentials, or access to systems you don't control.
  • Harassment, hate, threats, fraud, spam, or attempts to move a trade off the platform to avoid the Handshake.
  • Interfering with the service, probing it for vulnerabilities without permission, or getting around its limits.

We may remove listings or messages and suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

Fees

Listing, browsing, messaging, and proposing are free. A Handshake fee may apply to each side when a trade is agreed, and optional memberships cover it. Current fees, and any period in which they are waived, are shown on the pricing page and to you before you confirm a Handshake. Fees are charged by TraydStar on traydstar.com; card payments are processed by Stripe. A Handshake fee is for the use of the service and is not refundable once the Handshake is active, unless the law requires otherwise or the other party never confirms. Memberships renew until cancelled and can be cancelled at any time, effective at the end of the paid period.

Problems between members

If a trade goes wrong, first try to resolve it with the other member in the message thread. If that fails, use “Report a problem with this trade” on the Handshake: it pauses the trade and sends the details to us and to the other side. Reviews are how reputation is built, and you can report a member or a listing to support@traydstar.com. We may step in — for example by removing a listing or suspending an account — but we are not obliged to resolve disputes and cannot recover goods or compel anyone to perform.

Your content

You keep ownership of what you post. You give TraydStar permission to host, display, and distribute it as needed to run the service, including showing your listings to other members and to assistants and agents that search the marketplace. Records of completed trades are kept to improve value estimates, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Disclaimers and limits

The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. TraydStar is not liable for the conduct of members or their agents, for the goods and services traded, or for indirect or consequential losses. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the service is limited to the fees you paid to TraydStar in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Ending and changing

You can stop using TraydStar and ask us to close your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. We may update these terms; if a change matters, we will update the date above and notify account holders by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the change.

Governing law

These terms, and any dispute about TraydStar, are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any claim that can't be resolved with support is brought in the state or federal courts located in Tennessee, and you consent to their jurisdiction. If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still applies.
